Deidseheimer Paradiesgarten
Riesling Kabinett
2006
Germany
Food: Frenched pork chops with bourbon glaze (butter, brown sugar, bourbon) with mango-raisin-coriander-chili chutney, served with sweet potato chips (baked) and mixed vegetables (zucchini, eggplant, red pepper)
The meal was very sweet, which necessitated the wine being sweet. Hints of apple, pear. Became more sweet as the night progressed. Was a good match with all the components of the meal. Good match, but not a sipping wine on its own. Found out that rieslings from Alsace are generally dry, and from Germany generally sweet(ish).
